SMART Program Advisor
John Cyr serves as SMART Program Advisor. In this role, he provides administration assistance for the Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) award NCRPC received from the U.S. Department of Transportation. John began this part-time position in the spring of 2024. He previously worked for the NCRPC for 34 years, serving as Executive Director from 1986 to 2008. He also was Executive Director of the Kansas Association of Rural Development Organizations for ten years. In 2022, he received the inaugural NCRPC Lifetime Public Service Award to recognize individuals or organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the communities and citizens of the region.
